Social distancing
Social distancing is a non-pharmaceutical intervention that will help slow the spread of the disease. This can include choosing to make a meeting a conference call or to postpone a large event.
The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services recommends that people at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19 should:
- Avoid large groups of people as much as possible. This includes gatherings, such as concert venues, conventions, church services, sporting events, and crowded social events. It also includes avoiding cruise travel and non-essential air travel.
- Take everyday precautions to keep space between yourself and others.
- When going out in public, keep away from others who are sick, limit close contact and wash your hands often.
